How to choose the material for aluminum flexible duct

In order to produce the qualified aluminum flexible duct, we have do lots of research on the materials choosing. As we know, the aluminum flexible duct requires certain strength, the steel wire is the key to support the duct. the more steel wire, the duct will be more strong, in the mean time, the more material means the cost will highly increased. After years of experience, there is something you need to see as below.

I The different diameter requires different strip width

1. 4” diameter duct below: Recommended strip width 35mm.
2. 4” to 6” diameter duct: Recommended strip width 42mm (40mm) ,45mm (recommended)
3. 6” to 8” diameter duct: Recommended strip width 50mm
4. 6” to 10” diameter duct: Recommended 55mm
5. 8” to 20” diameter duct or more: Recommended strip width 60-75mm
Note: The pitch of steel wires = (15 ±5) mm = +20 mm

II The width of overlap of the aluminum foils
The minimum width：13mm. 15 mm is recommended.

III Diameter of steel wire
1. 4” diameter duct below: Recommended 0.8mm wire
2. 4” to 8” diameter duct: Recommended 1mm wire
3. 8” to 20” diameter duct: Recommended 1.2mm
In order to meet some special request, the 1.5mm or 2.0mm diameter steel wire also can be used.
